Solar Steel’s fixed structures power a mountaintop solar park in Croatia with RP Global

We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone: our very first solar project in Croatia is well underway—and it’s anything but ordinary. Nestled atop the rugged terrain of Pag Island, this mountaintop solar park is a bold testament to the strength, adaptability, and reliability of Solar Steel’s fixed structures: RackSmarT

Partnering with RP Global, we’ve completed all mechanical and pull-out tests, wrapped up our on-site mounting structure training, and are now ready to bring clean energy to the region in just a few weeks.

Built on rock. Designed to last.

This isn’t your typical ground-mounted solar installation. The site sits on solid rock at the island’s highest point, where wind speeds can reach up to 45 meters per second. To meet these extreme conditions, every pile has been engineered for a C5 corrosion environment—the highest level of protection against harsh weather and salty coastal air.

Instead of traditional driven piles, we’re using micropile foundations, a solution that ensures structural integrity even in the most challenging geotechnical conditions. It’s a perfect example of how our solar mounting structures are built to perform, no matter the terrain.
